You should make sure that you are listed as the REGISTRANT of the domain name and that you have access to the account of your domain registrar (i.e. GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Register.com). If a designer or anyone else registered your domain name on your behalf, double-check that you are listed as the registrant and you have access to the account with the registrar. If you’re not sure, check it out here: http://whois.domaintools.com. If you are not listed as the registrant, contact whoever registered the domain for you and have them transfer the domain name to a new account for you with the registrar. As it happened, that very night we had a big storm in San Diego and lost power for a few hours (tragic, I know). Who would have thought that I would be ever be thankful for a power outage? Not me, as this is pretty much my worst nightmare.

Writing content for your website can be quite the challenge. I know, because recently I needed to write new content for our 428 site refresh, which was proving to be a bit of a struggle. I would open up my document with my pages and write a little bit on each section, but nothing was really coming together. One night, I decided that was it, I would finish it – no matter what.
